GREAT LAKES COFFEE: BARISTAS AND COOKS ON STRIKE FOR A UNION AND A FAIR CONTRACT!

We work hard and care about the customers we serve. Baristas, cooks and food service workers have historically been treated unfairly on the job. And it’s time our voices are heard.

Together, we are on strike to make our jobs better with:

  • PPE like masks and clear COVID protocols
  • A starting wage of at least $15 per hour
  • Anti-harassment, anti-discrimination protections
  • Affordable health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off, including paid sick days and parental leave • Better communication from management to staff

***We are not asking customers to stop shopping at Meijer grocery stores, only not to patronize the Great Lakes Coffee shops inside them. Also at these locations, we are not asking any other workers to stop work or deliveries.***

DONATE HERE!

The Local 24 Detroit Solidarity Fund is dedicated to providing material support for workers on strike. Funds go towards workers’ groceries, diapers, utility bills, mortgage payments, rent, car payments, etc. The fund is administered by worker leaders, who are striking and UNITEHERE Local 24. Contributions will help strikers stay strong until we win! Contributions are not tax deductible.
